Register To Vote

Exercise your right to vote as a citizen of the United States. Asian Americans are currently the minority group with the lowest voter turnout.

To register to vote in New York, there are several qualifications you must meet:

  1. Be a United States States citizen

  2. Be 18 years old by December 31 of the year in which you file the registration form (you must be 18 years old by the time of the election you want to vote in).

  3. Be a resident of this state and the county, city or village for at least 30 days before the election;

  4. Not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction (unless parolee pardoned or restored rights of citizenship);

  5. Not be adjudged mentally incompetent by a court;

  6. Not claim the right to vote elsewhere

  • A valid NYS driver’s licence, permit, or non-permit ID

  • The last 4 digits of your Social Security number

  • Zip code currently on record with the DMV

After filling out the form, you must print it and sign it. Then, mail the form to your county board of elections.
