Donald Trump is the current President of the United States. He is a member of the Republican Party. Trump's reelection campaign focuses on the economy, jobs, foreign policy, and immigration. He places a heavy emphasis on trade and increasing jobs to decrease unemployment and boost the economy. During his presidency, he created ICE (U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) and instituted a zero-tolerance policy for illegal immigration, separating thousands of families at the U.S./Mexico border. In order to build a border wall which was a large component of his 2016 campaign, he forced a government shutdown to receive emergency funding. In an effort to drive economic growth, Trump slashed business regulations and taxes for corporations and high income earners. He also tried to undo Obamacare and made it more difficult for low-income people to afford healthcare. As for foreign affairs, Trump backed out of the NATO alliance and the Paris Climate Agreement in an effort to create a more isolationist America, as well as disregard the effects of unchecked climate change. The Trump Administration is also anti-abortion and Trump banned transgender people from serving in the military.

Mike Pence is the current Vice President of the United States. Pence characterizes himself as a Christian, conservative, and Republican. He was a served in the House of Representatives for Indiana and later became the governor of Indiana. In the last 3 years Pence has served as VP, he has championed $8 billion for the Space Force branch of the military and has been the head of the task force combating the coronavirus pandemic. He is also very outspoken about being anti-abortion.

Joe Biden is the democratic candidate for the presidential election. He served as Vice President under President Obama for 8 years. Prior to that, he was a senator representing Delaware for 36 years. Biden's key campaign issues are the covid-19 pandemic, climate crisis, boosting the middle class, health care, and gun control. Biden plans to address the pandemic by offering free testing to all Americans, creating a contact-tracing program, and increasing drive-through testing sites. He also said he would enforce a mandate for mandatory mask-wearing in public. Biden is working with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to implement a Green New Deal focusing on eliminating carbon emissions and increasing renewable energy. To boost the middle class, Biden wants to repeal Donald Trump's tax cuts for the rich, raise the federal minimum wage to $15, and expanding access to affordable education. As for gun control, Biden wants to ban assault weapons, enforce more background checks, and cracking down on gun manufacturers. In July 2019, Biden revealed his healthcare plan that added a new "public option" similar to Medicare that would allow people to choose between their employer's insurance and the public insurance plan.

Kamala Harris is the Democratic vice presidential nominee for the 2020 election. She is both the first black woman and the first South-Asian woman to be on a major party's presidential ticket. She is a Californian Senator and has served as District Attorney of San Francisco and Attorney General of California. Harris supports the Paris climate accord and believes action is needed to stop climate change. She would enforce the "College for All" Act proposed by Senator Bernie Sanders which would create a government funding program that would pay for tuition and fees at public colleges and universities for students with incomes of $125,000 a year or less. Just like Biden, Harris is for gun control and wants to ban assault weapons. Harris supports abortion and lgbtq rights but does not support states paying for gender reassignment surgery. She backs Biden's views on major issues.
