Founding Board Members

Iris Liu, Co-President

Iris Liu is the co-president of ASALI and a junior attending Manhasset High School. She has published educational articles in both English and Chinese regarding the American voting system while encouraging readers to take an active role in elections. This article series reached around 50,000 individuals in the Chinese American community. Now, she is continuing to strive for Asian American community engagement in cultural, educational, and political aspects through organizing ASALI.

Mitchell Jung, Co-President

Mitchell is a junior at Manhasset High School passionate about using the arts and media to educate those on topics like school current events and Asian culture. He is one of the lead video editors for Manhasset Broadcasting Company and wants to give other Asian students leadership opportunities to learn important skills that will help them in their lives. One of the main reasons Mitchell wanted to create ASALI was to give other Asian Americans an active stage to make changes in their communities, and help educate people about Asian cultures.
